Earth Day Yay!

The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it,
    the world and its inhabitants too.
Because God is the one who established it on the seas;
    God set it firmly on the waters.

 Our coronavirus crisis is testing our resolve, challenging our patience, hurting too many people economically....and giving our planet a much-needed and well-deserved break.  Satellite photos show remarkable declines in air pollution all around the world.  My friends in Salt Lake City report actually being able to breathe AND see the mountains clearly!  We're using much less gasoline.  Carbon emissions are down.  If we're looking for a Silver Lining in this difficult time, maybe this is it:  On today's 50th anniversary of EARTH DAY, we have FINALLY as a whole world full of people lightened our abuse of Mother Earth.  It only took a worldwide, very scary pandemic to do it.  And I'm pretty sure it won't last.  But at least for today, let's celebrate a cleaner planet brought about by very unexpected circumstances...and consider how we can continue to be kind to God's creation.                    Happy Earth Day!
Prayer Update:   Marshall Roberts is returning home today and has been referred to a Durango oncologist.  We're grateful to medical staff in 3 different hospitals for helping him in his time of need.  Please continue to keep Marshall and his daughter Marsha Siglin in your prayers.

Peace and all good,
Pastor Jean
